Only love grew

When I was a little girl
My home was a tree-trunk
On a white cloud
Up…up… in the sky

In this world of mine
The sun shone forever
All seasons were spring
And love grew everywhere

Yesterday is gone and its tale told. today new seeds are growing
In gardens… on trees
In the streets
On roof tops
In the rivers
In people’s hearts
And on their tongues

Visitors to my world
Wondered how
And why
Hate didn’t grow
Hate couldn’t grow

The secret was
In this world of mine
People could read
Each other’s minds
So, they came to understand

How others feel
What others mean
Why others do
And where others stand

That’s why
In this beautiful world of mine
Only love grew

  1. I ALMOST CRY 😥 BEAUTIFUL POET NAHIDA.

    • Thank you my dear Dian
In times of great upheaval and when darkness prevails, it is the remembrance of what is important that will keep us going.

Hope thrives by sustaining and fostering our humanity, amidst the gloomy hours of turbulence and anguish.

If we lose hope my dear, we are defeated

I do not subscribe to the vicious mantra “if you can’t beat them, join them”

I delight in the wonders of “Verily with faith there is NO despair… only hope, love, beauty and joy”

      • what does it mean anyway those who say “if you can’t beat them, join them” and one more thing, “fake it till you make it”
what the hell does that mean.
i say if you can’t beat them, slap the bitches and kick their asses and make them go to hell.
Nahida, you are truly my inspiration for life i could cry hugging you right now.. i hope someday we meet and you get your homeland back in no time..freedom at last. I LOVE YOU A LOT..

        • Thank you Dian for your humbling, warmhearted and absolutely beautiful message, and I too hope that one day we meet in liberated Palestine insha’Allah.
I love you too my dear sister as I love every source of goodness in the world, and I hope to get to know you more. ❤ 🙂
